Ford Motor Invites Jimmy to the NHRA US Nationals

We were pleased That the Ford Motor Company chose the team at Jimmy Buff-It’s to care for their nine vehicle display for the four days of the NHRA U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis on Labor Day Weekend.
Above is a shot as the display opened at 9am on Sunday. What a beautiful day!
This shot is at 7am – Sunrise comes soon…
This shot is at arrival time (6:30). Oh my, it is chilly! Note the dew on the glass and paint.

It is a real pleasure to work with the friendly and enthusiastic promotional team representing the Ford Motor Company.

Museum Quality Work

This wonderful shot is actually a 1/24th scale model! . I learned of his fascinating photography from the NYTimes. The work is by Michael Paul Smith. There are MANY more photos at his Flicker site:

By the way, that’s Baking Soda there in the road…

These photos are not so ordinary as it might appear at first glance. The fact is that each and every shot is a part of a miniature world called Elgin Park carefully constructed and photographed by Michael Paul Smith. To get this effect it was used an old trick described in many specialized books. You should just put the model in one line with the background. And no photoshop! All buildings are constructed on a scale 1 / 24 by the author. That’s how Michael Paul Smith transforms his love for 20 centuries into real modern art.
